I'm with Delmer. I want to know what's going on in my mind. It's fascinating and fun, even without the mystery. Besides, I don't think your motivation has anything to do with low self-esteem. Most of the time, being sexually objectified sends us the message that we're desired physically and we're sexually attractive. People with low self-esteem aren't the only ones who want to feel this way. It's like saying, “Only unhappy people like getting birthday balloons.” One big 'duh'.

I certainly wouldn't recommend trying to further understand oneself if a person is certain it would strip away the joys they experience in this life, However, understanding said joys could very well bring a person to other experiences that they enjoy. That being said, I am no fan of Psychoanalysis on a professional level, I am simply a firm believer in trying to understand oneself. Of course there is something to be said for mystery being the 'special sauce' but on the other side of the issue, does knowing the smell emitted by a rose is nothing more than a complex chain of hydrocarbons lessen it's olfactory allure and impact?
